Canada in India Student Partners Program

The Canada in India Student Partners Program (SPP) is a joint pilot project between Citizenship and Immigration Canada’s visa offices in India and the Association of Canadian Community Colleges (ACCC).

The total number of international students in Canada has more than doubled since 1998 to 178,000 and their presence provided employment for over 83,000 Canadians last year. A 2009 study commissioned by Foreign Affairs and International Trade Canada found international students contributed more than $6.5 billion to the Canadian economy in 2008.

Citizens of India who wish to participate in the program should contact one of the participating colleges for more information. The following is a current list of participating Canadian colleges:

•Camosun College, British Columbia
•Columbia College, British Columbia
•Vancouver Community College, British Columbia
•Vancouver Island University, British Columbia
•Bow Valley College, Alberta
•Grant McEwan College, Alberta
•Northern Alberta Institute of Technology, Alberta
•Southern Alberta Institute of Technology, Alberta
•Red River College, Manitoba

•George Brown College, Ontario
•Humber College, Ontario
